Japan bound, Destination: Kumano-shi

After days, weeks, months of ambiguity, indecision, and anticipation the decision is made and the destination is (somewhat) mapped out. After months of studying Japanese, reading up on Japanese etiquette, reviewing the country's geographical landscape and day dreaming like a school girl about the various exciting adventures that await me in Nihon, a trip to the near-complete unknown is sure to bring adventure, intrigue, and those inevitably awkward situations brought about by cultural differences that I'm sure will prove entertaining to recall after the fact.

Over the past few months I've been relying so heavily on forums and blogs in hopes that they would be of help when it comes down to making the "right decision" with regard to choosing the right school in the right place. Sure, this might sound like the organized, responsible thing to do. The reality of it is that too much research and over thinking in anticipation for relocation to the other side of the world can very well leave one more confused and undeceive than they where to begin with, since you never really know what to expect and prepare for until you actually get there. Call it cliche, or perhaps I'm just stating the obvious but its very easy to get caught up in one's own imagination and be swept off by excitement without taking the time to breath and look at things from the perspective of reality. That being said, I'm looking forward to my move to Kumano-shi where I'll be teaching English at a local school. I decided to start this blog as a way of documenting my time in Japan, as a way to keep in touch with friends and family, and to share my perspectives with any of you random internet drifters out there who happen to stumble across my blog.
